RUSSIAN SCHOOL "ERUDITE"

 

Erudite Russian Language Educational and Cultural Center Inc. (operating as Russian School Erudite) was formed exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, in order to contribute to the diversity and cultural enrichment of Montgomery County, Maryland, and surrounding communities through offering Russian language educational and cultural studies programs for children ages 3 to 17.

Notice of Nondiscriminatory Policy:  Russian School Erudite admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, and school-administered programs. 

Russian School Erudite’s regularly scheduled curriculum provides Russian language and cultural studies to preschool, elementary, middle and high school age students, ages 3 to 17, with quality programs and curriculum offerings based on sound, proven contemporary educational methods and materials.

​For preschool students (ages 3 to 6), our program is based on the Lomonosov School’s (Moscow, Russia) textbooks as well as the educational complex for kindergarten used in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main purpose of these programs is to teach children of this age group the basic skills of reading, writing and speaking Russian.

For elementary students (from the 1st to 4th grades) an educational complex for “heritage” children is used. This includes manuals on Russian language, reading and history as specially developed by the Russian World Foundation for Russian heritage students living abroad. Within this program, students learn Russian grammar, become familiar with Russian classical literature for children, a history of Slavic people, Russian cultural traditions and folklore.  

For older students, including those in the middle and high school grades, equivalent textbooks of schools of the Russian Federation are used and adapted as necessary. These students study Russian classical and modern literature and history. They learn how to write compositions in Russian and how to speak the Russian language well, including how to express their thoughts logically and grammatically. The main aim of the program is to educate students on the basis of humanism, love and protection of the natural environment.

For our senior students we designed a course based on Russian Cultural and Historical Heritage and a program to prepare them to take the Prototype AP Russian Language Exam.

Additionally, a program on Russian as a Foreign Language is also available for beginners. This program is designed especially for the students without previous knowledge of the Russian language.

​Importantly, to complement our above mentioned educational programs, we also offer classes which focus on creative and intellectual disciplines, such as, drawing, drama, chess, music, dancing, puppet theater, cinematography and crafts. Subject to demand, we are also considering to offer classes in mathematics, additional foreign languages, and robotics.

​Additional foreign language classes that are currently being offered are in the Kazakh language, with the other foreign language classes given consideration if demand is sufficient.

The founder of Russian School Erudite and its Principal, Inna Hart, holds the equivalent of a Master of Arts in Foreign Language and Literature (English) and is a teacher and educational administrator with over 30 years of experience including teaching both Russian and English in the former Soviet Union and the United States, and serving as Principal of Russian School “Olympus” which is located in Potomac (Montgomery County, Maryland), from 2007 to 2014.

РУССКАЯ ШКОЛА "ЭРУДИТ"

 

Русский  культурно-образовательный центр "Эрудит" приглашает детей от 3 до 17 лет на программы по обучению русскому языку и другим дисциплинам.

Цель нашего центра:  предоставить качественное образование для детей от младшего дошкольного до старшего школьного возраста в объёме субботней школы;  творческий подход к развитию личности каждого ребёнка через увлекательные уроки и внеклассную деятельность; создание культурного центра русскоговорящих людей.

Мы предлагаем:

• ​программу по раннему обучению детей младшего дошкольного возраста (3-4 года);

• oбучение детей среднего и старшего дошкольного возраста чтению, письму, владению устной речью;

• обучение детей младшего и среднего школьного возраста русской грамоте, литературному чтению, истории;

• курс для старшеклассников по подготовке к пилотному экзамену The Prototype AP Russian Language Exam, успешная сдача которого дает возможность получения кредитов по русскому языку во многих колледжах США;

• программу для детей любого возраста «Русский язык как иностранный»;

• культуроведение для старшеклассников;

• программу по рисованию, поделкам, музыке, танцам, кинематографии, шахматам, математике, казахскому языку (по другим языкам при наличии достаточного интереса);

• кукольный театр и драмстудию.

ПРАВИЛА

​

1. Все учащиеся школы должны вести себя в соответствии с правилами поведения, установленными для Public Schools Montgomery County, MD. Их можно посмотреть, пройдя по ссылке: https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/contentassets/2bcd99470c9f44f891cc5be276c25d19/student_code-of-conduct_web.pdf.

2. Все учащиеся школы должны соблюдать дисциплину на уроках, переменах и во время обеда в кафетерии.

3. Все учащиеся должны приходить на занятия вовремя и быть в классе за 5 минут до начала урока. В случае опоздания необходимо подойти к администрации школы.

4. Учащимся запрещается: портить имущество школы; бегать по коридорам и лестницам; пользоваться лифтами, а также помещениями, не отведёнными для занятий; играть в шумные игры на переменах; кричать, ругаться, использовать нецензурную лексику; выходить из школы без сопровождения родителей, учителя  или администратора во время, до и после занятий; сорить в помещении школы; играть в туалетах или закрываться в них.                                    В классных комнатах запрещается: пользоваться любыми предметами и вещами, оставленными на партах и в партах учениками и сотрудниками американской школы; рисовать, писать на этих предметах и вещах и выносить их из кабинетов; стирать с доски то, что было написано ранее; включать компьютеры и другие приборы; писать на Promethean Board, принимать пищу во время уроков и на переменах.

5. Обед происходит на большой перемене в кафетерии школы, куда учащиеся идут только в сопровождении учителя или администратора. Горячее питание, которое продается в школе, не входит в стоимость обучения. Оплата производится непосредственно организаторам питания.

6. Родители не должны находиться в школе во время уроков, за исключением тех случаев, когда администрация дала на это разрешение. Родителям также запрещается входить в класс во время урока.

7. В начале учебного дня родители должны лично сопроводить ребёнка (детей) в класс утром и, соответственно, по окончании занятий лично забрать его (их) из здания школы или из pick-up зоны. Если ребёнка забирает другое лицо, то родители должны заранее предупредить об этом администрацию школы и предоставить письменное разрешение с указанием  имени, фамилии и  номера телефона лица, забирающего ребенка из школы.

8. За опоздание родителей более чем на 15 минут после окончания занятий школа имеет право взыскать штраф в размере $10.

9. Администрация школы не несёт ответственности за детей, оставленных родителями без присмотра в помещении школы или на её парковке после окончания занятий.

10. В случае нанесения учениками ущерба помещению школы или школьному имуществу с родителей взимается сумма, равная сумме стоимости ремонта.

11. Учащимся запрещается приносить в школу электронные игровые приборы. Администрация школы не несёт ответственности за их утерю.

12. Учащимся запрещается пользоваться мобильными телефонами во время занятий. В экстренных случаях связь с родителями осуществляется через учителя.

13. Школа обязуется проводить обучение по заявленной программе. В течение учебного года администрация оставляет за собой право вносить изменения в программу, менять учебные пособия, а также, по результатам тестирования переводить детей в классы, более соответствующие их уровню.

14. Школа регулярно организует праздники для детей и родителей, экскурсии, а также участвует в конкурсах, фестивалях и других мероприятиях в районе Большого Вашингтона. 

15. В случае нарушения перечисленных выше правил школа оставляет за собой право принять строгие меры вплоть до временного отстранения ученика от занятий без возмещения оплаты за обучение, а в определенных случаях - до отчисления из школы.  ​

RULES

​​

1. ​All students at the school must behave in accordance with the codes of conduct established for the Montgomery County, MD Public Schools. These codes can be found at: https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/contentassets/2bcd99470c9f44f891cc5be276c25d19/student_code-of-conduct_web.pdf.

2. All school students must maintain discipline during lessons, breaks, and during lunch in the cafeteria.

3. All students must arrive at class on time and be in class 5 minutes before class starts. In case of late arrival, the student must contact the administrator.

4. Students are prohibited from: damaging school property; running along corridors and stairs; use of elevators, as well as rooms not designated for classes; playing noisy games during breaks; leaving school unaccompanied by a parent, teacher or administrator during, before and after classes; littering on the school premises; playing in toilets or locking yourselves inside the toilets. In classrooms it is prohibited: to use objects left on desks by teachers or other school employees or students of the school; erase from the board what was written earlier; turn on computers and other devices; write on the Promethean Board; remove items from classrooms; eat during lessons and breaks.

5. Lunch is served during the long break in the school cafeteria, where students go only being accompanied by a teacher or administrator. Hot meals sold at the school are not included in the cost of tuition. Payment is made directly to the organizers of the meals.

6. Parents should not be in the school during lessons, unless the administration has given permission otherwise. Parents are also prohibited from entering the classroom during the lesson.

7. At the beginning of the school day, parents must personally accompany their child (children) to class in the morning and, accordingly, at the end of classes, personally pick him (them) up from the school building or from the pick-up zone. If another person picks up the child, parents must notify the school administration in advance and provide written permission indicating the first name, last name, and phone number of the person picking up the child from school.

8. For parents arriving more than 15 minutes late after the end of classes, the school has the right to collect a fine of $10.

9. The school administration is not responsible for children left unattended by parents on the school premises or in its parking lot after the end of classes.

10. In the event that students cause damage to the school premises or school property, parents will be charged an amount equal to the cost of repairs.

11. Students are not allowed to bring electronic gaming devices to school. The school administration is not responsible for their loss.

12. Students are not allowed to use mobile phones during classes. In emergency cases, parents are contacted through the teacher.

13. The school undertakes to teach according to the stated program. During the school year, the administration reserves the right to make changes to the program, change teaching materials, and, based on the results of testing, transfer children to classes that are more appropriate for their level.

14. The school regularly organizes holidays for children and parents, excursions, and participates in competitions, festivals and other events in the Greater Washington area.

15. In case of violation of the above rules, the school reserves the right to take strict measures up to and including temporary suspension of the student from classes without reimbursement of tuition fees, and in certain cases - expulsion from school.
